Trebble, Beryl

Beryl was born an only child in 1937 in Southport, Lancasire, UK but her parents took her to Kenya to pyrethrum farm when she was 2 years old and they ended up in Durban, South Africa, for the duration of the war years. They then returned to Kenya where she grew up.

After graduating from the Loreto Convent in Eldoret at 15 she studied in Liverpool for a year before returning to South Africa. Here she married a farmer and they uprooted to pioneer a tea estate out of the rain-sodden Tinderet forest for an Assam tea company.

In 1962 she returned to Durban, South Africa for her two daughters' education.

Three years later she married her present husband, and they have been happily married for 38 years.

Her children's book, "Twiggy's Idea" has been published in English and Zulu.

For the past 13 years she has read for Tape Aids for the blind.
