DeSmet, Christine

Christine DeSmet is the author of the Mischief in Moonstone series of light romantic mystery short stories beginning with, When Rudolph Was Kidnapped, published by Writers Exchange E-Publishing. Christine is also the author of the Fudge Shop Mystery Series (Penguin Random House), including First-Degree Fudge, which became a bestseller for Barnes & Noble bookstores. She's also the author of Spirit Lake, an award-winning romantic suspense.

Christine is a past winner at the Slamdance Film Festival, optioning that true-story historical screenplay to New Line Cinema. The script is currently optioned with producer Steve Roeder in Hollywood.

A short drama script called The Stone Carver of King Street is being filmed by Living Storm Productions.

Christine is a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, Wisconsin Screenwriters Forum, and Romance Writers of America. She teaches novel writing and screenwriting at University of Wisconsin-Madison Continuing Studies where she's the director of the Write-by-the-Lake Writer's Workshop & Retreat that draws participants from about 20 states each June.
