Evans, Helen

Helen Evans has been a pre-school director, and a teacher of Child Studies at TAFE.

She loves working with children and is passionate about story-telling. The children who attend Child Care Centres in Armidale in northern New South Wales are her greatest fans. Her inspiration comes from the children and from her other abiding interest, animals.

Helen creates intricate sewn pictures to illustrate her children's books. She seeks ideas for these from children too. She has inspired creative activities in school children throughout the district by sharing her writing, story-telling and illustrating skills.

Helen is widow and has a grown up family and four grandchildren.
