4 Stars! "I was thrilled to return to Amethyst and witness another couple come together. Briar [wants a child of her own and] is in her late forties. (Women are considered 'high risk' if they become pregnant after thirty; 'very high risk' after the age of thirty-five.) For readers who think ahead, as I do, there's no worry about the baby if the parents pass away before the age of seventy because it would still have Harper (the hero's daughter), who would be adult by then. That was my very first worry upon learning Briar's age. This story shows that just because a woman is beautiful, it didn't mean she would only consider handsome and physically fit men. (In a small way, it reminds me of Beauty and the Beast. I have always adored the story and I just saw the newest movie release. So, yes, I may be biased because I love tales such as this.) The hero this time has a little extra weight and his hair is thinning. However, the heroine only cares about what he is on the inside. From my experience, men don't realize women care more about how the men treat them, since that's how they will also treat their future children. The author's writing style is easy to read. There is no life-threatening danger, just a romance that will make readers sigh in satisfaction. Highly recommended, especially on a rainy or snowy afternoon." ~Huntress Reviews
