Christine DeSmet is the author of the Mischief in Moonstone series of light romantic mystery short stories beginning with, When Rudolph Was Kidnapped published by Writers Exchange Publishing. Christine is also the author of the Fudge Shop Mystery Series (Penguin Random House), including First-Degree Fudge, which became a bestseller for Barnes & Noble bookstores. She's also the author of Spirit Lake, an award-winning romantic suspense.
Christine is a past winner at the Slamdance Film Festival, optioning that true-story historical screenplay to New Line Cinema. The script is currently optioned with producer Steve Roeder in Hollywood.
A short drama script called The Stone Carver of King Street is being filmed by Living Storm Productions.
Christine is a member of Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, Wisconsin Screenwriters Forum, and Romance Writers of America. She teaches novel writing and screenwriting at University of Wisconsin-Madison Continuing Studies where she's the director of the Write-by-the-Lake Writer's Workshop & Retreat that draws participants from about 20 states each June.
