Merry Christmas from Writers Exchange

2016 Publisher News: December 2016

Merry Christmas from Writers Exchange

Hi all!

Here in Australia it is 1 December 2016 – so for us the first day of summer (and apparently a scorching summer it is forecast to be). But happy first day of Winter for our northern members!

December is also a very special month for WEE, as it is the month we officially started this business!  So this month is our 16th Anniversary!!! Yep we’ve been around since December 2000!

A lot has been happening behind the scenes here this year. Our updates of our ebooks (which had taken us 2 years and we had JUST finished, and then there were some Amazon link changes that were important enough to add into all our books) is close to being finished AGAIN.

Amazon introduced AmazonSmile AND we found a place that provides a link that would take you to your local Amazon store rather than us having to direct everyone, world wide to the US store!

AmazonSmileFor those who don’t know, AmazonSmile–only in the US at this point, but anyone can use it–has all the same books as the normal Amazon stores, only EVERY sale gives a small amount to a charity you select. And, best of all, it costs you nothing extra, Amazon is actually doing it out of their share of the sale!  How cool is that! Had to support that the moment I found out about it:) Personally I chose to support Cystic Fibrosis charities, but there is a LOT to choose from.

If you go to our “About the Author” section of our books you can now find those links in the “Books by this Author”, and the “Other Books Published in this Genre” sections. We still have about 100 to finish but most of the work for them are already done, so they won’t take long to complete and then that mammoth task is finally behind us!!!

Spotlight on Love print coverPrint books will be updated to reflect any ebook cover changes over the coming months as well, but in the meantime they are still for sale with the old covers:) -> to the right is an example of one of the few new covers we have updated so far.

TwitterAnd with our biggest job finished we will be doing a lot more new releases per month and really ramping up our promotions, so I hope you are all signed up to our facebook, twitter and pinterest!

You may have noticed during the year that we took our books down from direct sale at WEE and made them exclusive from Amazon. That is because the biggest customer base is up there:) However we would love feedback from WEE customers on what they think about this change, how has it impacted your book purchasing? Did it make any difference at all or were you fine to just go buy at Amazon?  I’ll put a contact form at the end so anyone who wants to can let me know:)

We have also been updating the blog to make it “pop” more, so if you see any missing graphics, don’t worry about it that is because of the reconstruction process:)

We have been updating our covers on the slideshows on the right hand side of the blog as we remake the ebooks, so that should be complete soon too!

Writers Exchange's Writing Advice Column

We have also introduced a Writing Advice column, so I hope that helps our readers who are also writers:) This column is open for any contributors who are published authors, or journalists, you don’t have to be published by WEE.

Next year we plan to have a lot more happening with this blog too, including more interviews with our authors.

We would love it if you let us know what YOU would like so we can try to get that for you!

I know it is only the beginning of the month, but I doubt we will put out anything else except New Release notices and new Writing Columns here on the blog this month, so I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your loyalty over the years and to wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and we will see you again in the New Year!
